Why has my Autel Charger stopped working?

Autel are experiencing some software issues in April 2025

Autel are currently experiencing a software issue which is impacting some of their EV chargers.

They are working on an update which should resolve the issue remotely with an over-the-air software update.

 

Autel have provided two potential fixes:

Fix 1:

1) Open the Autel charging app.

2) In the bottom left corner of the app, you will find "Charging," and in the top left, there is a settings cog.

3) Click on the section labeled "My Charger." If you have renamed it, please select the name you have chosen.

4) Scroll to the bottom, where you will see the option for Firmware Update.

 

Please click on the Firmware Update option (Follow the on screen instructions regarding bluetooth). This action should ideally revert the update back to its initial settings.

Once you have completed these steps and the firmware update is finalised, please check your RCD (the main switch for the unit that seems to have tripped) to ensure that the switch is in the "up" position. You will need to flick it down for 30 seconds and then push it back up to complete a reboot.

After you complete the firmware update, please test the unit to ensure it is functioning properly and let us know the results. We understand that resetting the switch might take some time, and it may require multiple attempts. We recommend trying this process at least 2-3 times, allowing a minute or two between each attempt to see if it resolves the issue. Your patience in this matter is greatly appreciated.

 

Fix 2:

If this answer isn't suitable, Autel has provided Egg with some manual instructions for customers which includes a Powerbank no less than 2amps, USB-C connector, and T10 torx screwdriver. However, we understand that many customers may not feel comfortable using this equipment or may not have it readily available and we do not expect our customers to purchase this as we hope to find an easier resolution. Therefore, we prefer to attempt the above steps first before considering any further actions if necessary.
