What is Egg Plus?

What are the benefits of Egg Plus and how is it different to a manufacturer warranty?

We like to think of Egg Plus as the complete care package, that goes above and beyond your manufacturer’s warranty to ensure you’re set to charge!

Where manufacturers warranties only cover the physical charging hardware from manufacturing defects, Egg Plus has you covered. Whether you need remote assistance and diagnostics, on-site maintenance, or your charger to be replaced, we’ll take care of it all for you. No dealing with manufacturers, filing warranty claims or hidden fees.

 

In addition to the manufacturers warranty, we’ll take care of your entire EV charger’s electrical installation, all switchgear and cabling from breakdowns or failure through normal use. We also ensure your charger is always connected to make the most of the smart features. If your charger is consistently failing to connect to the network, we’ll install a different connectivity method at no additional cost to you.

 

What happens at the end of the 3-year minimum period?

At the end of the 3-years, you can choose to continue paying monthly for your Egg plus, to maintain your EV charger’s cover. If you choose to cancel after the minimum term, there are no penalties, and the charger remains your property. The only thing that will change is where you go for support.

 

If Egg Plus is cancelled, all issues or claims must be made directly with the manufacturer. For specific terms of the manufacturer’s warranty, please refer to any documentation you received with the charger, the manufacturers website, or any emails you received if you had to register your product when it was installed.

How do I claim through the manufacturer’s warranty if I cancel Egg Plus?

All claims need to be raised directly with the manufacturer who provide the warranty. Depending on the charger you have, the warranty period and claim process will vary. If you have any questions or need initial support with this, our team will be happy to help.

 

Some manufacturers only cover the costs of repairing the charging unit from manufacturing defects and may not cover the costs of removal or re-installation of the charger. Dependant on the terms of the manufacturer warranty, there may be a cost incurred if no fault is found with the unit after they have inspected and tested it. Any connectivity issues that are due to low signal strength at the charger location and not a hardware defect, may not be covered.

 

For some warranties, you may need to arrange for the charger to be returned to the manufacturer to claim on the warranty, with all removal, re-installation, and postage costs to be covered by the customer making the claim. With Egg Plus cover, we take care of all of this for you, and we’ll replace the charger while we’re on-site if we’re not able to fix it.
