How do I get an EV charger?

Getting an EV charger couldn’t be easier. We’ve taken away the complex surveys, the endless photo requirements and all the hidden extra costs.

To purchase an EV charger from us, you’ll need to do this online by going through our shop. You can then choose whichever charges catches your eye and select any optional extras that are available for your chosen charger. This could be choosing the connectivity method, depending on whether the WIFI or mobile signal is stronger in your desired location, and if you would like to add surge protection onto your order.

At the basket stage you can choose to pay upfront or take advantage of our 0% interest payment option over 36 months. If you select the credit option, we will carry out a credit check as part of the purchase process and ask you to agree to the loan documents for your purchase.

All current pricing is available on our EV charging page and any specific pricing is available to configure at the basket stage, depending on your choices.

Once you have chosen your charger, selected your preferred payment method and agreed to all the T&Cs, you’ll just need to make the payment for any additions you’ve selected and set up the Direct Debits. Not to worry though, we won’t start taking any monthly payments until your charger has been installed and set up.

What's needed for the pre-installation checks?

When you have placed your order, we’ll then ask you for some basic property information, such as your electricity meter location and a couple of photos of your property. Not to worry though, these are nothing complex and can generally be completed in a couple of minutes, with the photos uploaded directly from your phone.

Once the photos and property information has been submitted, it’s then over to us. We’ll review your order, the information you’ve provided and your current electrical supply to make sure there’s no nasty surprises on the install day. If there is anything we identify, we’ll be in contact with you to discuss your options and a plan of action.

Once we’re happy with everything, we’ll schedule your installation and provide you with an installation date. Install dates are generally around 2 weeks from the order being placed but these times do vary depending on current demand, your location in the country and if there’s any additional works that are needed before we can install your charger.

Charger installation

The installation of the charger itself usually takes around 4 hours, however this depends on the locations of electrical equipment within your property and the nature of the installation. If there are any enablement works required, we’ll arrange a visit to complete any remedial works, before returning on a different day to install and set up the EV charger itself.

Although we understand that having visits split across two days for certain installs may not be ideal, we’ve found that by doing this, we can reduce wait times and allows us to take care of everything for you, rather than leaving you to contact multiple companies and pay for additional works that may be needed and may delay the installation process.

Your charger’s been installed, what’s next?

Once your new charger has been installed, we’ll review all the installation photos to confirm everything is up to standard and confirm your charger is online in our back-office system.

Once this has been done, we’ll start taking your monthly payments. We’ll keep you updated with emails throughout the journey, so you know exactly what’s happening and when.

A couple of weeks after installation, you’ll receive your installation certificate. There is nothing you need to do with this, as we take care of all required notification and certification, this is just for your records.
