Charger subscription & cancellation

If you signed up for your charger before 25/07/22, you will be on our subscription package, which includes rental of your charger and Egg Plus as part of your monthly fee.

If you signed up after 25/07/22 we no longer offer the subscription package, as our customers told us they wanted to own a charger rather than just rent. From this date onwards, chargers were available using our consumer credit, monthly payment option instead. 

 

What happens if I’m still on the subscription package?

Whilst we currently don’t offer this to new customers, if you wish to remain on the subscription package, we do not have an end date on this plan, and you can continue to pay monthly for your charger.

I signed up after 25/07/22, which plan am I on?

If you signed up after this date, you will have purchased your charger using our 0% finance offer. This means you will own the charger; however, the cost of the charger is spread out over 36 months instead of buying it upfront.

The T&Cs relating to the subscription are not applicable to this product.

 

I want to cancel my subscription

If you are on our subscription package, all you need to do is give us 30-days’ notice and pay the removal fee as stated in your T&Cs. We will arrange for payment to be taken for the removal and arrange for an Electrician to attend your property to remove our equipment on a date that’s convenient for you.

 

I want to cancel my consumer credit or upfront purchase

For full details of the cancellation policy and any terms that apply to you, please refer to your specific T&Cs that were agreed to during sign up. These are available through your loan document portal.

 

In summary, if you are within the 14-day cooling off period and your charger has not yet been installed, please contact us to discuss your options. In most cases, we’ll be able to cancel your order and process any refunds that are due.

If you cancel an installation within 72 hours, you may have to pay a late cancellation fee due to costs incurred for the installation visit.

 

If you are outside of the 14-day cooling off period, or have already had your charger installed, you can cancel your order, however you may have to pay the following costs that Egg have incurred in supplying and installing your charger:

  • Costs incurred with the administration and installation of the charger by a qualified and manufacturer approved Electrician.
  • Costs incurred with the administration and removal of the charger by a qualified and manufacturer approved Electrician.
  • Loss of value in respect of the goods installed, as the charger and associated equipment is no longer considered to be new and cannot be resold as such.

 

For ease, Egg have determined the sum of the amounts owed to be equal to that of the total loan or charger value. This means that if your charger has already been installed, we can attend and remove it, however you will still have to repay the full loan amount and will no longer have a charger installed at your property.
